LOVELAND, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- OCTOBER 10, 2011 Abound Solar, a leading manufacturer of low-cost, thin-film photovoltaic solar modules, has appointed Craig Witsoe president and chief executive officer of the company. Tom Tiller, current president and CEO, will become chairman of the board of directors. These changes will go into effect on November 1.

Witsoe comes to Abound following three years as president and CEO of Lineage Power, now GE Power Electronics. Under Witsoe’s leadership, Lineage Power made significant gains in growth, profitability and customer satisfaction and was sold to GE Energy.

July 15, 2011  -- Abound Solar, a manufacturer of thin-film photovoltaic, or PV, modules, has agreed to a long-term purchase agreement with ABEL ReTec, a German developer of turnkey renewable energy projects.

The company also announced that it has initiated its agreement with ABEL ReTec with the sale of 1.2MW of Abound Solar's AB1-series modules, which was shipped during the second quarter of 2011.

(TSX:VNP), a developer and producer of high-purity metals and compounds for electronic applications and Abound Solar, Inc (formerly AVA Solar), a manufacturer of low-cost, thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar modules, announced today that they have entered into a PV module recycling agreement and signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of 5N Plus products. Under the terms of the recycling agreement, 5N Plus will provide recycling services for solar modules and manufacturing scrap produced by Abound Solar. The output of the 5N Plus recycling process will be recyclable glass and raw chemicals, ready to be processed into new finished products.
