Manufacturing

Abound Solar's manufacturing facility is located in Longmont, Colorado, USA and currently houses production equipment with 65MW of annual capacity.  This facility is in the process of being expanded to 180MW by 2012.  A second manufacturing plant will be located in Tipton, Indiana.  With a production capacity in excess of 600 MW and financial support from a  US Department of Energy (DOE) loan guarantee, this facility will be the largest solar manufacturing plant in the United States by 2014.  

Abound Solar manufacturers thin–film photovoltaic modules in our large–scale production facility. Using a proprietary process, we are able to produce millions of modules per year at industry leading low costs. The facility is fully-automated, converting glass and semiconductor materials into complete modules beneath its roof. This enables tighter quality control and reduces waste. A glass panel enters the factory every 10 seconds and emerges as a completed module two hours later.
